Anfinnur (Finn) passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22 at Vancouver General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was predeceased by his wife Jytte in 2009, and survived by his children Peter (Linda), Jon (Andrea) and Katherine, and devoted grand-children Timothy, Jared (Lavender), Else, Erik and Finn.
Finn was born in Leirvik on the remote Faroe Islands. He married Jytte while studying in Denmark. Finn's wayfaring nature brought him to Canada in 1965 to work as a development engineer for Alcan in Kitimat. After retirement Finn and Jytte moved to Sechelt, and Finn subsequently moved to Cavell Gardens in Vancouver in 2015. Family, faith and music were most important to Finn.
The family is thankful for the care provided by the staff at Vancouver General Hospital.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 3rd at the First Lutheran Church, Vancouver.
