Gitga’at Forestry Inc gives notice and invites comments on their proposed Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP), covering tenures Forest Licence A95995 and Non-Replaceable Forest Licence A97229. The FSP covers areas within the Great Bear Rainforest Land Use Objectives Central and North Coast area, and within the Coast Mountain Natural Resource District.
The FSP proposes results and strategies describing how Gitga’at Forestry Inc. will manage the resources legislated under the Forest and Range Practices Act and also how the licensee will manage for resources and specify results and strategies for the Objectives established within the July 27, 2023, Great Bear Rainforest Land Use Objectives Order, pursuant to Section 93.4 of the Land Act.
The FSP will be available for review and written comment for a 60-day period, starting on the date this advertisement is first published. We wish to invite all members of the public, Guide Outfitters, Trappers, and all other stakeholders or interested parties to review the FSP, discuss any particular results and/or strategies in more detail and to provide comments. Please provide comments prior to March 22, 2024, when the review and comment period will expire in order to have them considered and addressed.
