Environment Canada has put a winter storm warning in effect for the North Coast Wednesday (Dec. 23), to inland including Kitimat, Terrace, and Stewart.

Hazardous winter conditions are expected, with 30 to 60 centimetres of snowfall expected through Thursday.

Environment Canada said the snow will be quite heavy, beginning Wednesday and continuing overnight into Thursday. People are urged to take caution when out and about, especially while driving, as the accumulating snow could make travel difficult and may reduce visibility.
