They're lining up for Hall's job

Kitimat appears to be a popular place.

Mayor Joanne Monaghan says she can’t believe the number of people who have applied for the job of municipal manager.

The recruiting company hired by the city is going over those applications and will come up with a short list of five.

Monaghan explained that in making its decision, the company is using the preferences indicated by mayor and council who each, independently, told the recruiters what they were looking for in a new manager.

Monaghan hopes the new municipal manager will be in place by the second week of May.

Meanwhile, outgoing manager Trafford Hall starts his new job on May 2 as administrator of the North Okanagan Regional District.
