Search and Rescue members find missing man on Coho Flats trail

Kitimat Search and Rescue (KSAR) was called out Monday morning at 4:30 a.m. to respond to a missing 42-year-old male.

Kitimat Search and Rescue (KSAR) was called out Monday morning at 4:30 a.m. to respond to a missing 42-year-old male lost on the Coho Flats trail system.

Two teams were dispatched on foot and searched from the Coho Flats trail head, as well as the Hirsch Creek Golf Course trail connector.

The subject was located at approximately at 7:15 a.m. and after being accessed it was determined he could hike out with the assistance of KSAR members. He was then passed on to paramedics from the Kitimat Fire Department for further assessment.

KSAR would like to thank members of the Kitimat Fire Department, the RCMP, and employees from the Fish Hatchery for their assistance and successful outcome to this task.
