The Holiday season is once again fast approaching for the residents of Kitimat. The District of Kitimat has already put their snowflakes up along Haisla Blvd. making the town a little more festive.
Now, the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce is putting on Light up Kitimat. The last time this event was held was in December 2019. Taking place on Dec. 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., residents will be able to once again experience Kitimat being lit up in Mountainview Square which is by the courthouse.
“I think a lot of families missed it last year and we are all really looking forward to seeing these types of events back up and running as best as we are allowed to,” said Laurel D’Andrea, Executive Director of the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce.
There are some new additions to the event, the first 500 families will receive collectible decorations. There will also be an eight foot TransCanada selfie frame that people can use to snap some pictures.
The Mountainview Square parking lot will be transformed into the Spirit of Christmas thanks to more than 30 businesses. People are invited to come down and enjoy the music, cocoa and treats.
