Kitimat RCMP investigating two-vehicle collision on Haisla Hill

Police said a pickup truck collided with a taxi headed in the opposite direction

Kitimat RCMP are looking for any further witness accounts after a pickup truck collided with a taxi on Haisla Blvd. Wednesday (Oct. 28) night, causing injuries to both drivers.

At 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, RCMP said the pickup truck was travelling up Haisla Hill, just past the pedestrian overpass, when it crossed the centre line and struck a taxi heading in the other direction. The taxi was carrying the driver and two passengers at the time of the collision.

Police said the driver of the pickup truck suffered injuries and the people in the taxi suffered minor injuries. RCMP said they are investigating the pickup truck driver for impaired driving.

Police are requesting any witnesses that haven’t spoken to the Kitimat RCMP are requested to contact them at 250-632-7111.
