Kitimat RCMP investigating after a pedestrian was struck crossing Wakashan Ave.

The pedestrian was transported to Kitimat General Hospital by Kitimat Fire and Rescue paramedics

Kitimat RCMP and other emergency services responded Jan. 14 to a report of a pedestrian being struck.

On Jan. 14 at 5:15 p.m. Kitimat RCMP received a report that a pedestrian walking across Wakashan Ave. (in the area of lower parking lot Tamatik arena) had been struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported to Kitimat General Hospital by Kitimat Fire and Rescue paramedics.

Police spoke to the driver of the vehicle and witnesses at the scene.

An RCMP collision analyst was brought in to do further analysis of the collision and the roadway remained closed for several hours.

The collision remains under investigation.
