Kitimat issues alert regarding closure of southbound Lahakas Blvd.

The District of Kitimat has issued an alert that a section of Lahakas Boulevard will be closed overnight starting tomorrow evening.

“Due to paving work, starting September 22 to September 27, during the hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. the southbound lane of Lahakas Boulevard, between Albatross Avenue and Haisla Boulevard, will be closed,” the alert stated.

Motorists are advised to find alternate routes during this time.

Also during these same dates and times, there will be traffic delays downtown along Lahakas Boulevard, Wakashan Avenue, and areas of the Upper City Centre parking lot.

“Thank you for your patience and safe driving during this work,” the district stated.
