Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club (HCGWC) is warning golfers they could have their playing or even membership privlidges revoked if they fail to respect new COVID-19 measures the club has put in place.

Anyone feeling unwell or who has travelled within 14 days is being asked to stay home from the club. Furthermore, anyone at the club must following social distancing protocols of staying at least six feet apart. The club says a number of modifications have been made to ensure that players do not need to touch any golf equipment except their own.

HCGWC is also requiring that all players sanitize their hands before entering and exiting washrooms. All golfers must leave immediately after their round, with no loitering allowed. The clubhouse is currently closed, with the Creek Bar and Grill open from 4-8 p.m. daily for take-out (orders must be placed ahead by phone). The club is no longer accepting cash.

Both the club’s driving range and putting green’s usage is being limited, with golf carts available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Anyone using a golf cart must ride alone unless they share a house with the other rider.

To ensure the rules are being followed HCGWC said they will have marshals monitoring the course periodically who will have the authority to ask those not observing them to leave.

“Violation of these rules by a club [member] may constitute them as a member ‘Not in Good Standing’ and their membership may be revoked with all dues and fees forfeited,” the club added in a release detailing the new rules.
