Residents in Kitimat woke up to a startling sight as gas prices once again rose overnight.

Prices were sitting around $1.66 per-litre yesterday and today they went up 10 cents to $1.76. Gas prices have seen a steady increase since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In Terrace, prices ranged from $1.62 to $1.76 according to GasBuddy’s online tracker. Prices in Vancouver have increased past what northwest residents are paying, with some stations reporting prices as high as $1.81.
