The Kitimat Rotary Club hosted its first-ever first responders’ recognition event on Sept. 17 in Radley Park.

With the support of local businesses, the rotary club was able to donate $2,250 to the Kitimat Hospital Foundation and $2,250 to Kid Sport on behalf of first responders.

First responders in Kitimat come from sectors such as fire, police, ambulance, doctors and nurses, Haisla Nation fire services, search and rescue, marine rescue and emergency support services.

The Kitimat Rotary Club would like to thank their sponsors, volunteers and provincial MLA Ellis Ross for speaking and city council for assisting with the event.
