A house fire broke out at around 7 p.m. on Plover Street. Nobody was hurt. The residents were not home at the time of the fire. Neighbours used a crowbar to open the door to rescue the family’s dog. It is unclear how the fire started and is under investigation. The house was an old pan abode and made almost entirely out of wood. The fire travelled upwards and burned throughout the ceiling until being put out by firefighters.
