An event jointly hosted by the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce and the Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce will help people navigate through the functioning of the municipal council.

If people are interested in learning about council or running for office, a virtual event is being held on Oct. 14.The event is taking place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be hosted on Microsoft teams.

The link to the Microsoft Teams meeting will be available once people register online at NWBC.info/council

“We wanted to give a little bit of insight into the voting process,” said Laurel D’Andrea Executive Director for the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce.

An expert from outside the community – Allison Habkirk who served as Mayor and Councillor for the District of Central Saanich – will be giving an informative presentation on this subject.

Following the completion of the event on Oct. 14, the link will be made available on both the Kitimat and Terrace Chamber’s websites for future viewing.
