Residents now have the opportunity to share their thoughts on issues surrounding housing and affordability by filling out a new District of Kitimat household survey.

The aim of this survey is to better understand Kitimat’s housing affordability issues, wages and communities needs. The information taken will then be used to help shape planning in the district.

A flyer has been sent out to select households in Kitimat with information on the survey. On that flyer, there is an access code that must be entered online in order to participate. This survey is a first of its kind for the district.

Residents participating in the survey can expect to be asked about how much they pay for monthly rent, cost of living, occupation and monthly wages. Only one member of each household needs to complete the survey. Households chosen to participate were randomly drawn from the District of Kitimat’s municipal tax roll.

The survey and data collected are confidential and used to benefit the community.
