Another rainfall warning has been issued for Kitimat.

Though rain in Kitimat may not be all that surprising, 60 to 80 millimetres or two to three inches are expected today and late into tomorrow.

Kitimat saw five inches of rain for the entire month of November last year. Over the last four days, Kitimat got over three inches, including this upcoming rainfall Kitimat may see more rain in the last week than it did last year in November.

Rain is expected to be heavy at times and will pick up before noon. A frontal system that is intensifying over the eastern Pacific is expected to bring this heavy rainfall. The rain is expected to be heaviest this afternoon and continue through to Thursday afternoon.

Environment Canada is warning that with grounds already saturated, the risk of localized flooding does exist. Highway 37 has already seen a significant amount of water pooling following the last storm and with more rain on the way it can create some treacherous driving conditions.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible, Environment Canada will continue to issue alerts and updates on the storm.
