A dedicated bunch of daredevils braved the icy waters of the Douglas Channel for the annual polar bear swim in Kitamaat Village. The swimmers, carefully monitored by volunteers from the Kitimat Marine Rescue Society, took the plunge on January 1 at noon, hoping the late start would warm things up a bit.
