Voters across British Columbia head to the polls on Saturday to choose a mayor, council and other leaders in local government.

Polls are open in Kitimat at the following locations from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. PT:

Mount Elizabeth Middle-Secondary School

1491 Kingfisher Ave., Kitimat.

Riverlodge Recreation Centre

654/654 Columbia Ave., Kitimat.

Who is running for mayor?

Phil Germuth is the incumbent mayor of the District of Kitimat. He was elected as mayor in 2014 after having served as a councillor since 2011.

Local businessman and founder of resource movement #thenorthmatters, Dave Johnston, will be running for council for the first time.
