Prince Rupert Rampage shut out Kitimat Ice Demons 4-0

The Prince Rupert Rampage delivered a commanding performance Jan. 18, shutting out the Kitimat Ice Demons 4-0 at Tamitik Arena. 

Hunter Johnson opened the scoring for the Rampage midway through the first period. Johnson struck again later in the period, doubling the lead as the first frame ended 2-0.

Early in the second, Reid Lindsay extended Prince Rupert’s lead to 3-0. Kitimat struggled to generate offence throughout the game.

Judd Repole added the finishing touch in the third period, scoring just under three minutes in to seal the victory. Prince Rupert goalie Brayden Ferguson was stellar in net, earning a shutout with critical saves that stymied Kitimat’s few opportunities.

The game featured disciplined play overall, with no major penalties disrupting the flow. Each powerplay opportunity went unanswered.

This win bolstered the Rampage’s standing in the Central Interior Hockey League, where they currently sit in fifth place with 12 points from 14 games.The Kitimat Ice Demons sit seventh with five points in 16 games.

At the top of the standings, the Terrace River Kings dominate with 28 points from 15 games. They are followed by the Quesnel Kangaroos with 25 points in 14 games, and the Williams Lake Stampeders in third with 20 points from 13 games.
