LNG Canada has adopted the Voyent Alert system to keep the public informed on its startup activities.

LNG Canada has announced the adoption of Voyent Alert as its official platform for issuing neighbour notifications under its Safe Start-Up program. Effective immediately, notifications will no longer be sent via email.

Residents are encouraged to register for the free, user-friendly service at register.voyent-alert.com. Both the District of Kitimat and Haisla Nation already use this platform, simplifying access for existing users.

“To enable LNG Canada notifications, simply log in to your Voyent Alert account, navigate to ‘My Locations’ in the left-hand menu and toggle on the LNG Canada provider button,” the company stated.

For those who need assistance, LNG Canada said representatives will be at the Riverlodge Activity Room on Jan. 16, from 3 to 7 p.m., to help residents sign up. Details of additional in-person sessions will be shared on the company’s social media platforms.

LNG Canada’s facility is now more than 95 per cent complete and remains on track to deliver its first cargoes by mid-2025.

A major milestone was achieved in August 2024, when natural gas was introduced to the facility for the first time via the new Coastal GasLink pipeline. This marked a significant step forward in commissioning and safe start-up activities.

The ignition of the pilot flare represented another key achievement, enabling the company to test and fine-tune its equipment. As part of this process, more frequent and intense flaring is expected during the commissioning phase, though this will decrease as the facility transitions to full operations.

Questions about the Voyent Alert service or LNG Canada’s operations can be sent via email at info@lngcanada.ca or by calling 1-833-632-LNGC (5642).
