Kitimat’s first baby of 2019 was welcomed into the world at Kitimat General Hospital early in the morning of Jan. 2.

Liv Marlene Highton was born 5:10 a.m. that morning.

Weighing in at eight pounds, 13 ounces, Liv is the daughter of Leslie and Brandon Highton of Kitimat.

And when she’s a little bigger, she’ll be playing with Charlie, the family dog.

The first baby born in the North this year was born in Smithers.

Northern Heath says Baby William Ross was born at Bulkley Valley District Hospital at 1:01 a.m. Jan.1 to mom Nikki and dad Will, of Stewart B.C.

Baby William weighed in at six pounds, 14 ounces and was also welcomed into the world by his big sister, two-and-a-half-year-old Avery.

The first baby born in British Columbia in 2019 was delivered at Fraser Health’s Royal Columbian Hospital, at 12:01 a.m. Jan. 1.
