On Saturday, April 22, 2023, in honour of Earth Day, Kitimat High School students Maya Brown and Devon Jennings organized a community clean-up.
Around 20 people arrived in the rain to pick up seven bags of litter on the Mount Elizabeth Secondary School grounds and the surrounding neighbourhood.
“We hope to plan more going forward in the school year and during the summer,” said Brown. “We decided to organize this because we want to clean Kitimat up. We love our community and our school and we want to see it cleaned.”
