Kitimat RCMP arrest suspect in metro kidnapping

New Westminster police have arrested a Kitimat man in connection with a kidnapping in the Lower Mainland municipality April 25.

At the time of the kidnapping, the local police force’s Major Crime Unit enlisted the help of five other Metro Vancouver police units, including the gang squad and emergency response team to quickly rescue the victim and arrest two armed suspects.

On Dec. 9, with the assistance of the Kitimat RCMP detachment, Jordan Bullach was also taken into custody and charged with kidnapping with a firearm and unlawful confinement.

New Westminster Police Sgt Andrew Leaver said the investigation into other suspects ongoing.

“The New Westminster Major Crime Unit will not rest until every person involved in the planning and act of this kidnapping has been arrested and charged.”

Kyle Dimond of Kamloops and Marc Valcourt of Vernon were charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement and use of intimidation with a firearm. Valcourt faces an additional charge of assault with a weapon.
