Kitimat Fire and Ambulance is calling on residents to donate old vehicles to support emergency response training.
“These vehicles help us maintain and enhance various critical emergency response skills needed during real-life incidents,” the department said in a statement.
The donated vehicles will be used to train firefighters and paramedics in essential rescue techniques, ensuring they are well-prepared for real-world emergencies.
Residents with vehicles beyond repair can donate them to the training program instead of paying disposal fees. All types of vehicles are accepted, but donors must arrange transportation to the training ground on Forest Avenue.
To make a donation, residents can call 250-632-8940.
“Your donation helps us practice and perfect various rescue techniques that save lives. Instead of sending that old vehicle to the scrapyard, consider donating it to support your local emergency responders’ training,” the department said.
