CDN Controls held an inter-branch food drive competition in the month of April.
Based on the average number of non-perishable food items donated, the Kitimat branch came out victorious over the companies six other locations.
The Kitimat location finished with 540 non-perishable items and donated them to their local food bank. Overall, the company distributed 2485 non-perishable food items to local food banks within the branch’s communities.
CDN Controls also donated one dollar per food item that was given to the food bank.
Making sure that they can help a couple of organizations in the community, CDN Controls Kitimat branch donated their $540 to the Kitimat’s Food Share program. The remaining $2305 was donated to other food banks within the branch’s communities.
“[food drives] are part of our initiatives for community involvement, […] we really started putting a focus on these initiatives back in 2015,” Rob Campbell, branch manager of Kitimat CDN Controls said.
“We got a real competitive spirit within the company, but the driving motivation was to meet that community initiative.”
