Kitimat Experiences is a Facebook group started by Katrina Kindrat. As of writing the group has over 800 members.
The goal is to host a number of different social events and activities for everyone in the community. There is usually at least one event going on every day. The group regularly does day hikes up Fire Mountain, Coho Flats, Hirsch Creek and more.
The group also hosts backyard barbeques, puppy play dates, kayaking, board game nights, painting parties, yoga sessions, community clean-ups, festivals and day trips to various locations. The cost of events ranges from free to around $50.
