Nechako Elementary opened its doors for the annual Open House on Sept. 27, giving students an opportunity to proudly show their families around their classrooms and introduce their teachers. One of the highlights of the evening was the display of over 60 marble runs created by the students, a hands-on project that challenged their creativity and problem-solving skills.
“They came in all shapes and sizes. They were absolutely awesome and such fun to try out,” said teacher Michele Frater, reflecting on the students' efforts in designing the marble tracks.
The marble runs, which varied in design, showcased the students' ingenuity in guiding marbles through twists, turns, and obstacles. The event also featured a sweet treat, with attendees enjoying ice cream cones, making it a fun and memorable evening for families.
Marble runs, known for promoting creative thinking, encourage students to apply principles of physics and engineering, turning this educational tool into an engaging project.
