With the snow coming down, Thomas Shiner and Rebecca Lilly, took it upon themselves over the weekend to shovel the Kitimat skatepark.

Trying to get rolling sooner than later, Shiner and Lilly are no strangers to putting in hard work.

“Back in Ontario, we usually have a crew that meets up when it snows and we’d all shovel the park together,” Shiner said.

New to town, the couple recently moved to Kitimat from Ontario with Shiner’s family for work-related reasons.

As the District of Kitimat only removes snow on sidewalks and other walkways around the skatepark, Shiner and Lilly hope that others follow suit.

Longing for others in the community to chip in, the couple emphasized the more help they can get removing the snow, the faster the park can be used.
