Here are some good news stories from Northern Sentinel readers this week:
“2020 has been a different year for everyone and MVL (Mountainview Lodge) is no exception. A big thank you to the Hospital Auxiliary , the First Baptist Church, Martin Gould, Barbara Campbell, The Quilters Guild, The Kitimat Fire and Ambulance department and everyone from the community that came out to join the Christmas Car Parade. Last but not least we want to thank all the staff at MVL for helping to make this Christmas as special as it could be for our residents.”
— Jane McIlwrath and Martha Flores, MVL recreation staff
“On behalf of the Kitimat Food Bank I would like to extend out heartfelt thanks to all the individuals, companies and organizations who have generously donated to our organization. Our Food Bank is 100 per cent operated on donations from the community. In this challenging time of Covid, we have not had to close at all on distribution days, although we have been operating with a greatly reduced staff in order to protect the health of our wonderful volunteers. This December, in addition to supplying monthly hampers to over 100 families and individuals, we were able to build and distribute 278 special Christmas hampers to our fellow Kitimat citizens needing some food help at this time of year.”
— Bill Willis, Kitimat Food Bank VP
