The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation’s third annual Spring Fling Gala and Auction is sold out!

But just in case ticket holders decided not to attend ahead of the April 13 event date, the foundation is advising anyone interested in attending to put their name on a waitlist.

“For whatever reason a guest may not be able to attend and with the goal to have a guest in every seat, tickets may become available,” said foundation office co-ordinator, Kiona Enders. “Contact the office to add your name to the list.”

Foundation vice president Margaret Sanou said the support for the event has been tremendous.

“We are extremely pleased with the response from the community for the gala, which this year promises to be a fun-filled evening with a gourmet meal,” said Sanou. “The Kitimat business community and residents have given great support donating or sponsoring auction items valued at more than $12,000.”

This year the foundation is introducing a “Grab & Go” Board featuring donated gift cards, with a cumulative value exceeding $1,000, from local businesses.

The gala is the foundation’s main fundraising event of the year. All proceeds from the gala will go to the Kitimat Valley Housing Society for the dementia care home pilot project.

The gala, which takes place at the Kitimat Rod and Gun Club, will be catered by Mary Wilson of Chez Catering. Longtime entertaining auctioneer Sandra Dugdale returns and post-auction music will be provided by the Coffee House Cats.

Sponsors this year are:

Silver Star: Primerica Financial Services/Fidelity Investments, the Northern Sentinel.

Bronze Star: Bank of Montreal, Envision Financial.

Due to the overwhelming demand for this year’s event, the foundation will be looking at growing the event for 2020.
