Kitimat photographer Dusty Danis captured this dramatic view of crews assembling the new floating dock at Minette Bay West Park, a highlight of a project nearly a decade in the making. The dock, designed to improve access for small watercraft such as canoes and kayaks, features a durable, weather-resistant structure suitable for year-round use. Minette Bay West Park, known for its scenic waterfront and rich wildlife, provides a key launch point for exploring the surrounding estuary. The land was gifted to the district in 2015. Construction began Dec. 4, prompting the park’s closure until Dec. 31, though an early reopening is possible if work finishes ahead of schedule. Dusty Danis
