Amy Guldin, this year’s Honorary Fire Chief for a Day, poses for a portrait in the Kitimat Fire Hall. The annual title, open to students from Kindergarten to Grade 3, includes fun training activities and an honorary luncheon. In an official statement on department letterhead, Guldin thanked Northern Sentinel publisher Misty Johnsen for the paper’s coverage of Fire Prevention Week, saying, “Fire safety education is important to everyone. We are taught about fire safety at school, however there are many adults who need to be reminded.”
