Two peaks brewing is soon to be the newest addition to Kitimat’s nightlife.

The opening is anticipated for early April. It has been under construction since March of 2022 and is a labour of love for owners and operators Nick Markowsky and Brandon Highton. Much of the look and the labour of the brewery was done by Markowsky and Highton, and their friends and family. The design and decoration were done largely by Leslie Highton and Amanda Markowsky. The industrial farmhouse design of the space is enhanced by an eclectic collection of thrifted and handmade furniture, a massive plant wall, and delightfully atmospheric and inclusive washrooms.

Two Peaks will feature over 10 changing types of local beers, many brewed in-house. Non-beer drinkers worry not, there will also be a short wine and cocktail list, as well as a rotating menu of bar snacks such as beer nuts, pretzels, tacos, sliders and flatbreads curated by chef Mike O’Neil.

“We’re really happy, we wanted to build a place that we would want to go,” said Brandon Highton. Both Highton and Markowsky expressed their gratitude to the community for all their support and the many friends and family who helped make this dream come true.

“I think there are so many people to thank,” said Highton. “Would have been difficult to do this without all the support.”
