Robert “Bob” Anthony Adam Szmata
April 12, 1949 - January 18, 2012
We regret to announce the sudden passing of Bob Szmata in Kitimat on January 18, 2012 at the age of 62.
Bob is survived by his father Nick (Martha), daughter Sherri (Dave), son Troy (Toni), and his partner Hazel. Also left to mourn are his brother Jim (Jeannette), sisters Audrey (Bob) and Shelley (Mark), nephews Shane, Mike, and Greg, niece Janice, and their spouses, as well as his grandchildren Ashley, Amber, Keyana, Danielle, Jordan, Caitlyn and Taylor.
Bob was a dedicated, strong, and amazing father, grandfather (Bompa) and friend to all. He loved the outdoors and his toys. Bob was the proudest father, Bompa, and man I knew.
An open house celebration of life to follow on May 19, 2012. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation in Vancouver, B.C.
