October 8, 1942 – August 28, 2016

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Paul, a most wonderful and loved father and grandfather, on Sunday, August 28, 2016. Paul was predeceased by his parents, George and Ursula McEwen, his brother, Ian, and his sister, Mary Anne. He leaves behind his daughters, Megan McEwen- Nekrash (Kyle Nekrash) and Dylaan McEwen, as well as grandchildren, Julia and Nathan Nekrash. Paul was born in Timmins, Ontario in 1942 and moved to Kitimat, BC with his family in the early 1950’s. He always held the years he spent in Kitimat close to his heart. From the lifelong friendships formed to the adventure of the great outdoors, Kitimat was always home. Paul enjoyed a brief career with the RCMP, then moved on to teach high school before becoming a lawyer in 1977. Ever the adventurer, he spent many years mountain climbing in North and South America. Paul’s love of motorcycles led to many memorable trips and good friendships. He will be remembered for his love of reading, thoughtful advice, and sense of humour. Thank you to the amazing doctors and nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at NRGH for everything they did for Paul and his family.
