Margaret Trethewey

January 14, 1926 – July 5, 2017

Margaret Trethewey passed away very peacefully on July 5, 2017 in Kitimat, BC.

Born in Portland, Oregon, USA on January 14, 1926 to James and Greta Taylor she enjoyed many pleasures, such as reading, multiple crafts and painting. Margaret was an avid baseball fan and loved to keep up on current events. She was very involved with her Church and teaching Sunday school.

Margaret is survived by her four children; Jim (Pat) Trethewey, Elizabeth (Wayne) Brackley, Laurie (Keith) Reynolds, and Wayne Trethewey. She is also survived by her extended family: Joe (Sanda) Taylor, Robert Taylor, Walter (Anna) Taylor, John Taylor, Anne (Denys) Baldock, Lillie Spelay, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband Lloyd Trethewey (1991), infant son John, her parents and twin sister Jean Lowrie.

Margaret moved many times with her family, spending her youth in Banff and the Windermere Valley. Margaret and Lloyd married on March 17, 1945 and lived in the Valley until 1966 when they moved to Fraser Lake, Ashcroft and Kamloops. Eventually they would settle in Salmon Arm in 1973 until she moved to Kitimat in 2006. She made friends easily and always offered a helping hand, a kind word, or even a cupcake.

Memorial services - July 12, 2017 -

at 1:00 pm at the Kitimat Pentecostal Fellowship, 1340 Kingfisher Avenue.
