Lanny Horace Robinson
1944 to 2017
After a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family at VON Sakura House, Woodstock on Saturday, May 6, 2017, Lanny Horace Robinson, of Tillsonburg, Ontario and formerly of Kitimat, BC and Long Point, Ontario, passed away at the age of 73 years.
Beloved husband and best friend of Liz (Liptak) Robinson for 49 years; loving father of Danielle Iallonardo and her husband Mike of Burnaby, BC and Melissa VanGulck and her husband Jeff of Tillsonburg; proud grandfather of Luca, Aiden and Logan; dear brother of Larry Robinson and his wife Lucille of Moncton, New Brunswick; uncle to Jeff Robinson and his wife Diane of Moncton, New Brunswick and Gidget Allison and her husband Shayne of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Also survived by his Aunt Madge Esseltine of Tillsonburg, sister-in-law Irene (Liptak) Wurm of New Hamburg, Ontario, as well as a large extended family of cousins.
Predeceased by his parents Leo and Kathleen (Esseltine) Robinson, his Uncle Clare Esseltine, cousins Rick, Phil and Jane Esseltine and Aunt Jean and Uncle Cliff Esseltine.
Lanny was a very successful owner/operator of an electrical company named “Lanny Electric” in Kitimat and he was also a Property Manager for large commercial properties in Edmonton, Alberta. Lanny was an avid outdoorsman, especially fishing but his greatest love was for his family.
Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm where the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 12 at 1pm with Pastor Paul Robinson officiating. Cremation to follow.
