Katharina H. Grave
February 18, 1936 to June 24, 2013
Born in Heerlen, Netherlands, Katharina immigrated to Canada and eventually made Kitimat her home where she met Karl.
Katharina passed away after a short battle with cancer at the Kelowna General Hospital. Surrounded by her loving family, Mom went peacefully in her sleep.
She left behind her loving husband of 58 years Karl, a daughter Barbara (Greg) Brosnikoff, plus the Apples of her eye, her three beautiful grandchildren Travis, Matthew and Kristen. And last but not least, Jennifer Gorden who she always referred to as her second daughter.
No matter what role Mom was in whether it be Wife, Mother, Oma, her family was always number one in her life.
Mom and Dad had recently moved from Kitimat, which was their home since the beginning of Kitimat, to Winfield, BC to be close to their daughter and grandkids. Also so she could start her cancer treatments. In the end her wish came true to be surrounded by her family who love her so much.
Katharina, Mom, Oma will be dearly missed but never forgotten. She loved life and we loved her laugh and her big smile and most of all her loving heart. Mom left her mark on all of us and for that we will never forget her and are eternally grateful.
