John Bernauer
May 17, 1931 - October 20, 2009
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of John Bernauer, a resident of Kitimat for 54 years.
John is lovingly remembered by his wife Traudl of 51 years and two daughters Karin and Monika (Arno).
John was born in Aistersheim, Austria to Johann and Anna Bernauer. He was the only son with six sisters.
He emmigrated to Canada in 1953 and spent a couple years in Saskatchewan before moving to Kitimat in May 1955. He made a few trips back to Austria, where he married his wife Traudl in May 1958.
John’s two daughters were most important to him. He enjoyed the company of his many friends and appreciated their support. John loved the outdoors and spent many happy times out in the bush hunting, camping and driving the back roads. He enjoyed being busy in his workshop.
No service by request. Donations to the Kitimat Humane Society or Canuck Place in John’s honour would be appreciated.
