Kitimat Council invites public comment on a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) amendment application.

J. Oviatt Contracting Ltd. is requesting following amendments to Temporary Use Permit (TUP) 04-2022:(1) stockpiling logs, and firewood acquired from clearing of lots from Strawberry Meadows; (2) processing topsoil acquired from construction of the road to Minette Bay West Park; (3) storing raw topsoil, masonry sand and silt; (4) storing hog fuel, rig mats, a portable bridge and a portable sawmill; (5) utilizing Forced Air Log/Wood Burning Pit on site; (6) storage area for drying wood; (7) to sell topsoil; (8) snow hauling primarily from Civeo Sitka Lodge, but also from other off-site locations within the District, and providing access to subject site through Loganberry Ave; (9) allowing four workers for three weeks per year to process the topsoil; two site crews for two weeks per year to burn the wood; one person for soil sales; one person for loading topsoil in truck; one person for snow storage; a site foreman; and storing a machine for organizing the snow storage; and (10) all the above-mentioned uses/activities for a three-year term. The subject site has had a previous TUP for similar uses.
