The handicap access fishing spot along the Kitimat River is effectively out of service as the Kitimat River water level continues to rise.

The Kitimat River has been steadily rising over the weekend.

Environment Canada's Wateroffice's website data shows the water level on the river below Hirsch Creek at approximately 1.25 metres on Sept. 29. However by today it has risen to just over three metres.

The high river is clearly seen by anyone driving by it, and most of the gravel bars normally seen from Haisla Bridge are submerged.
