“We’ve been looking for quite a while,” said Ross

Skeena B.C. Liberal MLA Ellis Ross has chosen the soon-to-be vacated Wings Travel office space in the City Centre Mall as the location for his Kitimat constituency office.

“We’ve been looking for quite a while,” said Ross last week. “There’s all sorts of criteria to follow from the Legislative Assembly.”

The office space fits that criteria, which includes adequate parking and at least two entrances and exits in case of emergencies.

“It’s now a matter of details such as the lease,” said Ross.

There’s no set date for the office to open but Ross said he’s hoping for a late October or early November opening.

Arrangements include installing phone, fax and data lines. Also needed is an office assistant.

Following his May election win, Ross quickly secured a Terrace location by taking over the office space of out-going Skeena NDP MLA Robin Austin.

And that office is still without a land line, Ross said. The Wings Travel space is becoming vacant because the business, a Kitimat fixture for four decades, is closing down its operations.
