The Auxiliary’s final celebration of its 60th anniversary year included welcoming Kitimat’s Last Baby of the Year Ella Maria Mowatt who was born on December 28 weighing 6lbs 3 ozs at Kitimat General Hospital.
Baby Ella received a gift certificate from the Auxiliary to spend in the gift shop. Members of the Kitimat Quilters Guild presented a very special quilt created especially for her as well.
Ella is not only the last but also the first – the first child for Stephanie (neé Gutknecht) and Marshane Mowatt. She is also the first grandchild of proud nanna and pappa, long-time residents of Kitimat, Maria and Randy Gutknecht.
Stephanie was also born in Kitimat, and dad Marshane is from Jamaica where we are told Ella will spend her first vacation, in the not too distant future, being presented to her Jamaican family. Lucky girl!
