The Northern Sentinel has been a part of Kitimat almost from the beginning of the community. Since the first issue hit the muddy, construction-era streets in 1954, it has chronicled the lives and times of this unique town and its people. And it continues today, striving to maintain the quality that made it an award winner both in provincial and national newspaper competitions. The Northern Sentinel is a subscription tabloid with a circulation of 2,000, published every Wednesday.
Northern Sentinel Press also prints a Friday free-distribution newspaper, the Northern Connector - a joint publication with our sister papers in Terrace and Prince Rupert, it reaches homes from Haida Gwaii to Stewart in the north to the Hazeltons in the east.
The Northern Sentinel is part of Black Press.
